- An opportunity to meet and work with the teacher, Jill Kocher, for about 45 minutes
- Time to discuss your interests, ask any questions regarding lessons and studio policies, play some music, and try some easy music exercises.
- For young students and beginners, the teacher will do a music assessment consisting of some short exercises and easy music games. No previous piano playing experience is necessary and it will help the teacher make recommendations on your immediate course of study.
- For transfer students or students who have some playing experience, you are encouraged to bring in and perform some pieces that you enjoy and are comfortable playing. The teacher will work with you a bit on these pieces and it will help to demonstrate your current level of playing ability.
- After the lesson, you are encouraged to take a few days and decide if you would like to continue with lessons. If you decide to enroll in the studio, your annual registration fee will be waived.
