Jill (Bazar) Kocher began piano studies in junior high with Donna Terepka in Scottsville, NY, from whom she also received introductory pipe organ instruction. At SUNY Fredonia, Jill studied piano as her primary instrument and majored in instrumental music education, studying French Horn as a secondary instrument. At the recommendation of her piano teacher, Robert Jordan, she added piano performance as a second major, and completed this degree with coaching from Nathan Hess. At Fredonia, Jill was introduced to the Feldenkrais method by Phyllis East and continued additional Feldenkrais studies with Sam Nelsen in Rochester, NY. At East Carolina University, Jill completed graduate studies in piano pedagogy with Kerry Carlin, and piano studies with Paul Tardif. She has received additional coaching from Keiko Sekino and Henry Doskey in Greenville, NC, as well as George Fee and Susan Dersah-Fee in San Diego, CA and through their online studio.
